Awards

For some reason that's unfathomable to me, some people have read my fics and decided they liked them enough to vote for them...it's very strange...
Thanks to anyone who's done that!

2001 Captain Doctor Awards
Dedicated to our favourite Stargate SG-1 pairing of Doctor Daniel Jackson and Major Samantha Carter - Connections was a challenge to include Sam, telepathy, mentions of the underused fan favourite Walter Davis (the Chevron Guy) and Daniel punching out Maybourne...
All these things spoke to me and after about three false starts, I got the idea to start the blinking thing in the middle. Six months later, I had my story!

2002 Golden Coffee Cup Awards
This one was a major surprise to me because (a) I don't write much Josh/Donna and (b) there's so much truly wonderful stuff out there that I honestly didn't expect to get a look in! It's a songfic to a wonderful Matraca Berg piece, and the whole story that I told is lifted ver batim from the song...a grandmother telling a tale to her grand-daughter about a time and a place that was wonderful and terrible all at the same time, where dreams came true and new ones were created...if I caught half the emotion that's in the song, I'm lucky.

Sam-Daniel Rebellion SG4 Drabble Competition
The Sam-Daniel Rebellion list held a drabble competition before the SG4 Convention in London, in February 2002, at which Amanda Tapping and Michael Shanks were guests. All the drabbles were put into a 'zine, and the winning drabble, I Knew I'd Like Him,was presented to both Michael and Amanda. It's based on one of Sam's lines during their first meeting, when he showed her, O'Neill and Kawalsky the cartouche in Children of the Gods.

Do you have any idea how much noise Air Force One makes when it lands in Eau Claire, Wisconsin? We’re going to have a party, Congressman. You should come, it’s gonna be great. And when the watermelon’s done, right in town square, right in the band gazebo... You guys got a band gazebo? Doesn’t matter, we’ll build one. Right in the band gazebo, that’s where the President is going to drape his arm around the shoulder of some assistant DA we like. And you should have your camera with you. You should get a picture of that. ‘Cause that’s gonna be the moment you’re finished in Democratic politics. President Bartlet’s a good man. He’s got a good heart. He doesn’t hold a grudge. That’s what he pays me for.
