But so is his, and their shared fear is oddly comforting.
They both know that this will change everything, but they want people to know, and there's still enough gambler in him to almost look forward to it.
And while she might have looked disapprovingly at him in the casino that first day so long ago, there's a gambler in her now too, enough to roll the dice on them.
So they walk down the halls together, towards Grissom's office.
Her hand is freezing, but he's not letting it go.
