This is it - end of an era.
This is the kitchen I grew up in, and the last time it'll ever be like this, just Grams and me.
I tell her I'll be back, but she shakes her head. "You'll have a wife to make you breakfast from now on," she says, and I raise an eyebrow.
"Sara?" I ask, and she smiles through her tears.
"I'm proud of you baby," she tells me, taking my hand, and I squeeze hers hard.
"Thanks Grams," I tell her. "For everything."
We share a silent smile, then go on with breakfast.
