Getting the Joke

Notes: Response to the CSI100 drabble challenge, theme Firsts.
It's a second before Sara's crooked smile lets us know that she's kidding, that she didn't really leave Brenda Collins sitting in a car in the Vegas sun. I'm the first to laugh, Nick right after me, but I don't think that Gris and Cath get the joke, not if the looks they give her are anything to go by.
Not that I care, because I'm too busy realising that this is the first time I've ever heard her make a joke like that, the first time I've ever seen her smile so wide.
I hope it's not the last.
