Judge and Jury
Rating: PG
Notes: Response to the CSI100 drabble challenge, theme innocence.
Warrick, late, mutters something about oversleeping, feels like he's on trial.
Grissom, the judge, pointedly says, "Again?"
The jury, Catherine and Nick, joke about his chronic lateness, wondering what - or who - is taking up all his time.
He affects innocence, glad when Grissom leads them out. This leaves Warrick with Sara, who hands him coffee. "This should wake you up," she says, as if butter wouldn't melt.
"I'm plenty awake…" he counters. "Just couldn't get out of bed."
"I'm shocked." But both know she's not, just like they know tomorrow will bring more of the same.
Neither mind.
