Once, when Catherine asked her if her father ever told her she was pretty, Sara answered, “No.”

No-one’s ever told her that, and for a long time she believed that no-one ever would.

That, however, was before Warrick.

Not that he’s ever come right out and said it; it’s as if he knows that she wouldn’t be comfortable with such an admission, wouldn’t know what to do with it.

He doesn’t say the words, but that’s not the point.

When Warrick holds her, for the first time in her life, she feels beautiful.

She likes it.

She likes him more.
