To Sleep, Perchance
Rating: PG
Pairing: Warrick/Sara
Notes: For the LiveJournal CSI100 challenge to use
the line “She dreams in black and white” in a drabble.
Most people
know that Sara survives on little sleep but they don’t know about the dreams
that force her to. Don’t know that she relives each case, casting herself as
the victim, that she dreams in black and white, the
shadowy absence of colour rendering the images even more harrowing.
She dreams
until screams rip from her throat, then wakes to soothing colour; the blue of
the sky, the bright of the sun, the solid pine of her dresser. To the concerned green eyes and warm brown skin that wrap around
her, chasing the dreams away until she sleeps again.
