Warrick’s done a lot of things in his life that have surprised him. But lying here on Sara’s couch, the pair of them necking like teenagers, is definitely the last place he ever expected to be.

He’s not complaining, but still, there’s just a part of him that thinks they’re going too far too fast. That’s the part of him that pulls away, sits up, takes a deep breath.

“I should go,” he says, meaning every word.

He stands, but Sara’s hand closes around his wrist. “I wish you’d stay,” is all she says.

She doesn’t have to ask twice.
