Seeking Comfort

Notes: Response to the LiveJournal CSI100 "Disaster" challenge; this is what happens at two in the morning when I can't sleep.
She sits on a stool in Grissom's kitchen, her head in her hands, misery personified. Her ex-husband is dead, her daughter is getting into fights at school, and she's just blown up her place of work.
"My life is a disaster," she says hopelessly. "I'm a disaster."
She looks up at Grissom, seeking comfort, instead receiving that little shrug and smile combo he's perfected. "Yeah," he says, and she doesn't know whether to cry or hit him.
He saves them both by adding, "But you're my disaster."
She doesn't know whether to cry or kiss him, so she does both.
