Giles has spent the last seven years watching Willow.

He’s seen her with Oz, have her heart broken.

He’s seen her with Tara, was convinced that they would last, helped pull her back from the abyss after tragedy struck.

Now he watches her with Kennedy, and he thinks that it will never last, that the other girl is too young, too immature for the woman Willow now is.

She’s learned a lot, seen much, in the years he’s known her, but there’s one thing she’s never known, has never seen, him waiting in the wings.

He knows she never will.
