Being Strong

the word love”
Kate’s father
raised her to be tough, be strong, never let weakness show in public.
She’s
always done that, until the day that she stands in a graveyard, holding her
mother’s hand, watching his coffin be lowered into the ground. She knows she’s
about to break down, hates herself for it, but she’s not strong enough to stop
it.
Then she
feels a pressure on her other hand, and she glances up at Gibbs. He’s looking
straight ahead, not at her, but she knows that that’s his way of saying that
he’s there for her.
Strong
again, she squeezes back.
