The photos, taken almost twenty years apart, are practically identical, and both make Hailey smile.

In the first, she is a teenage bridesmaid, dancing with Jimmy Cooper at her sister’s wedding. He’s looking off into the distance, probably, she knows, at Kirsten. She’s looking up at him like he hung the moon.

In the second, she is an adult bridesmaid, dancing with Jimmy Cooper at her father’s wedding. She’s still looking at him like he hung the moon.

The difference is, this time, he’s looking at her the same way.

Both make Hailey smile, but she knows which she prefers.
