Her sister is missing, and she can't do anything but sit in the mess, drinking coffee, trying not to cry.

She jumps when someone enters, says hello, and she doesn't miss how his eyes widen in recognition before he begins sputtering apologies, promising to leave her alone. However, right now, the company of a stranger seems preferable that of her thoughts, so she calls after him, smiles when he sits down beside her, extending his hand.

"I'm Will."

"Ellie." She takes his hand, solid and warm, for just a moment before they sit in silence.

Somehow though, she feels better.
